Experience and Education

Ethan serves as a key contributor to Mariner’s active portfolio positioning. He brings a multi-asset discipline with a primary focus on the global equity and fixed income markets. In this role, he utilizes a fundamental, top-down approach informed by macroeconomic, quantitative and qualitative frameworks.

With more than a decade of experience, Ethan’s objective is to add value to Mariner’s investment strategies. He pursues this objective by seeking to uncover and capitalize on gaps between the fundamental macroeconomic environment and what is currently priced into asset markets by taking advantage of episodic, event-driven market opportunities and longer-term mispricing opportunities consistent with the firm’s investment philosophy.

Prior to joining Mariner, Ethan was the head of tactical allocation and director of research at Baystate Wealth Management, which was acquired by Mariner in January 2024. Before that, he was the director of the investment department at Baystate Financial Services.

Ethan holds a BSBA from the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
